About The Position

Senior Purchasing Agent The Senior Purchasing Agent works independently to make inventory level decisions and manage the purchasing of high-volume, core business wood products. This role is responsible for managing and negotiating rebate programs and overseeing all activities related to procuring goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Duties may be performed directly or through coordination with other personnel. This is a great opportunity for a self-directed professional. Remote or Hybrid remote employment opportunity available. Management approval required after initial in office training and evaluation of performance. For compliance purposes for NYS transparency, the expected salary range is $38.00-$55.00. Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant industry wood specific related experience
  • Bachelor's degree(B.A) from four year college or university
  • One to two years related experience and/or training or Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations independently.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Approves invoices for payment when discrepancies arise and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Utilizes superior knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities with regard to assigned product lines and is a recognized resource to salespeople throughout the Company.
  • Manage and maintain positive vendor relationships.
