About The Position

Johnson Brothers is a national family-owned wine, spirits, THC, and beer distributor. Johnson Brothers has been providing, exceptional service to our customers since 1953, representing the world's most famous brands in the beverage industry. We are searching for a high energy and motivated Purchasing Agent I. And it might just be you! This is an opportunity to work in a fun, fast-paced organization purchasing and managing suppliers for a wine, spirits, THC, and beer distributor. You will be responsible for managing the acquisition of products, services and works from external sources to procuring the best possible cost to meet the needs of the organization in terms of quality and quantity, time, and location. You will be primarily responsible for planning, strategic sourcing, costs, and managing the procurement of all product and services. This is a hybrid position in office 3x a week at our St. Paul office.

Requirements

  • College degree required: focus in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administrative, Management or another related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years procurement experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated initiative, urgency, and strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics and data accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of imports and international trade (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the purchasing process of goods and services for each category group.
  • Arrange transportation of purchase orders, both domestic and international, to minimize cost and maximize efficiency.
  • Track and measure sourcing strategies against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and assist in creating and executing sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, create subsequent business direction and strategy to plan and forecast inventory need.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of purchasing matters with other departments, divisions, and senior management.
  • Review inventory levels against target goals for portfolio.
  • Process product invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payment.
  • Enter new products and materials into company systems accurately.
