About The Position

The Purchasing Agent / Buyer I is responsible for coordinating the procurement of materials, parts, and supplies to support production and operations. This Purchasing Agent / Buyer I role works closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Requirements

1–3 years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience (preferred)
Strong computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to analyze inventory usage and reorder points
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with supply chain processes and vendor management

Responsibilities

Review inventory levels and determine reorder points using ERP systems
Create and manage purchase orders for materials and parts
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and availability
Request and evaluate vendor quotes for new and existing components
Track orders and ensure on-time delivery of materials
Expedite late orders and provide status updates to internal teams
Identify and evaluate alternative suppliers when necessary
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on material specifications and changes
Review engineering change orders related to materials and procurement
Manage purchasing of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies
