About The Position

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement of medical supplies, patient supplies, food supplies, and other necessary items for the Support Services department. This role involves collaboration with the Food Service Leader to ensure that all supplies for various menus are available, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with health guidelines.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare food service environment.
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing for a corporate chain restaurant or healthcare facility with significant purchasing volume.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to identify various product lines and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
• Background in purchasing from local food service vendors.
• Knowledge of healthcare-based contract negotiations and Premier contract pricing.

Responsibilities

• Purchase all medical, patient, food, and other supplies for the Support Services department.
• Work with the Food Service Leader to ensure all necessary supplies for cafeteria and patient menus are available.
• Establish pars and place orders for supplies as needed.
• Receive and check in all orders from vendors, ensuring accuracy in delivery.
• Obtain credits for any missing or damaged items from vendors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas in compliance with health guidelines.
• Implement and maintain the CBORD FSS inventory program for menu-driven purchasing.
• Code and process all invoices for the department to ensure timely payment to vendors.
