About The Position
The Puppy Counselor position at Top Dog SF in San Francisco is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal behavior and training. Top Dog SF is a leading professional dog training and walking company in the Bay Area, known for its modern, science-based training methods that utilize positive reinforcement techniques. Since its establishment in 2004, the company has been dedicated to providing award-winning pet care services, focusing on exercising and training dogs while educating owners on how to cultivate well-rounded, confident urban dogs. In this role, you will be part of the unique Puppy Head Start Program, which is designed for puppies aged 2-4 months. This program emphasizes early learning of critical foundational skills that support the comprehensive development of puppies. As a Puppy Counselor, you will work closely with clients and their puppies, providing essential training and socialization to prepare them for life both at home and in public settings. The position requires a commitment to working Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling approximately 30-35 hours per week. You will receive on-the-job training covering various aspects of puppy care, including socialization, dog body language, and positive reinforcement training. The role demands patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to handling puppies in a dynamic environment. You will be on your feet for most of the day, requiring quick reactions to the needs of the puppies.
