About The Position

Chase Technical Staffing is hiring Punch Press Operators for full time positions with a Metal Industrial and Furniture parts fabrication company in Aurora, IL. Day Shift (6:00 am-2:30 pm) and Evening Shift (4:00 pm-12:00 am) $18.00 - $25.00/hour to start with opportunities for Performance Pay Increases Position work pieces against gauges or stops on machine bed or on die. Start press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction. Inspect work pieces for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges, calipers, micrometers or templates. Assemble, rivet, clamp parts together. Complete daily press maintenance sheets, cleans and may lubricate presses. Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate activities. Adhere to company safety policy and procedures. Accurately enter time, labor and production quantities into the data collection terminals. (May) Move parts from one storage location to another using a fork lift truck or a pallet mover. (May) Set up presses or machines with specific tooling or dies for particular jobs.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a high school education or G.E.D.
  • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
  • Experience with measurements tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage blocks/pins
  • Drug screen and background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating production machinery and/or stamping presses preferred.
