About The Position

The primary function of this position is to operate heavy duty power press’ to produce quality parts per specifications while observing Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirements represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; and or a minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications.
  • Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of press controls, e-stop, basic feeder settings and light curtains.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to understand, follow and carry out verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with Tool room and Punch Press personnel.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers. Must be able to calculate parts per hour and to record total quantities on Work Order Tally Sheet.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to reason and provide solutions to problems using concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Evidence of “US person” is required under ITAR.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily inspection at the start of shift to ensure presses are functioning properly and reports any machine malfunctions.
  • Monitors parts throughout the run to meet blueprint requirements using precision measuring instruments.
  • Completes thoroughly required forms such as but not limited to; tooling work orders, manufacturing work orders and inspection forms.
  • Able to recognize cosmetic non-conformances based on Company specifications such as; burrs, galling, cracked edges, slug marks, dimensional changes in production parts and initiate action to prevent non-conformance such as stopping the machine and notifying Supervisor.
  • Follow all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organize part pans, and performs other housekeeping duties.
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve our ISO 14001standards and HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules)
  • Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to his or her superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
  • Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
  • Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
  • Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
  • Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
  • To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
