Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications.
  • Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of press controls, e-stop, basic feeder settings and light curtains.
  • Powered Industrial Truck Operator (Forklift) experience, training and certification conducted internally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS 9100, NADCAP, Mil-Specs, ITAR, Aerospace specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs set-up on progressive and single station dies.
  • Selects and positions special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine.
  • Performs first article inspection on set-up parts, monitors parts throughout the run to meet blueprint requirements using precision measuring instruments.
  • Completes thoroughly required forms such as Tooling Work Orders, control plans, and inspection forms.
  • Performs daily inspection at the start of shift to ensure presses are functioning properly.
  • Adjusts depth and pressure of ram stroke.
  • Aligns bolt dies to ram and bed of machine.
  • Recognizes cosmetic non-conformances based on Company specifications and initiates action to prevent non-conformance.
  • Makes adjustments as needed to shut heights, feeders, pilot release, lubrication systems, stock guides, scrap controls, safety systems, tapping units, die sensors, and air blow offs.
  • Follows all 5S department procedures including keeping floors clean and returning tools to proper locations.
  • Occasionally uses fork-lift to move parts if authorized.
  • Complies with rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets.
  • Suggests waste elimination initiatives related to the function and department.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
