About The Position

The Punch Press & Fab Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the punch press and fabrication shop to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. This role involves managing a team of machine operators and welders including MIG, TIG, and robot welders, coordinating workflow, and maintaining equipment to meet production schedules and quality standards. Essential Functions: Implement best practices in safety, quality control, and process improvements to optimize shop performance. Collaborate with production management and quality assurance to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures all fabrication and punch press activities align with company goals, company compliance and customer requirements. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of punch press operators and fabrication shop personnel to meet production targets. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Monitor equipment performance, schedule maintenance, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime. Review production schedules, assign tasks, and adjust workflow to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to develop skills and maintain high-quality workmanship. Effectively collaborate to address technical issues and implement process improvements. Maintain accurate production records, report on key performance indicators, and communicate progress to management. Enforce compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or certification in manufacturing technology, industrial supervision, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in punch press operation and metal fabrication.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a fabrication shop setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management or Industrial Engineering
  • 5 + years of experience in a production environment
  • Experience with CNC punch press machines and automated fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience implementing process improvements.
  • Previous quality management experience
  • OSHA Certified (Safety)
