Pump Station Crew Leaders are responsible for wet well maintenance in the Pump Station Division as well as implementing training, skill development, and all safety compliance of crews. As a Crew Leader, the main activity is the repair and maintenance of Chesapeake's Pump Stations wet well infrastructure and monitor operation of pump stations. Monitor and maintain the condition of pump stations and the repair of other sewer and pump-station infrastructure as assigned. The Crew Leader upholds Chesapeake's customer service CARES standards when interacting with customers and teams in the field. Crew Leader operates and directs the use of a variety of specialized motor equipment to support City operations such as pumping, hauling, wet well cleaning and other specialized operations. Accountable for maintaining the required tool inventory on their assigned work vehicle. Crew Leader administrative responsibilities include the development and execution of a pump stations maintenance schedule; monitor and review work assignments and secure resources required such as labor, materials, tools, and equipment to complete work assignments. Completing various logs, timecards, and monthly reports. Assist with budgets and inventory as instructed. Perform basic office tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, phoning, and copying in support of your own tasks. Requires basic computer skills in Word and Excel. Performs supervisory functions such as interviewing and recommending selection of personnel: assigning and evaluating work; counseling and discipline. Attends staff meetings, training sessions, seminars, conferences, and classes to exchange information and improve skills. Requires exceptional willingness and ability to mentor others and assist other crews as assigned.
