This job can be described as: Performs regular cleaning duties of parts and assists pump mechanics in their daily duties. Has overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the shop. Will aid in both assembly & disassembly of pumps when called upon. Job Model: On-Site On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts. A typical day at work would include: Performs various maintenance services as directed by immediate supervisor. Performs regular cleaning duties of parts, aids in both disassembly and assembly when needed. Picks up scrap, dirt and other refuse; sweep and dry mop shop. Responsible for overall cleanliness of the shop. Sweeps, wet and dry mops and performs various cleaning duties involving the use of cleaning solutions. May strip, wax, and/or buff floors. Collects, compacts, and bales recyclable materials and cardboard. Uses industrial vacuums and motorized floor washers. Performs simple maintenance functions to these machines. Operates company vehicle to perform work tasks.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license in order to operate company vehicle.
  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Ability to ask for direction from Supervisor when more complex decision-making is required.
  • Ability to make basic decisions corresponding with written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to work in an uncomfortable environment, i.e., extreme varying temperatures and loud noise.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written/verbal instructions and/or procedures in the English Language or willingness to learn English.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, as required.
  • Ability to understand chemical relationships in cleaning solutions and solvents.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment, such as, industrial vacuum, floor washers, buffing machines, fork lift, balance equipment.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn proper procedures for stripping, waxing and Buffing floors

  • Ability to drive a fork truck desirable.
