About The Position

We are seeking a Pump Mechanic for assignment in Hoboken, New Jersey. The selected candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 2 wastewater treatment plants and associated pump stations. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm This position requires Welding experience This position has a rotating on-call schedule

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Drivers License
• 1+ years of mechanical experience working on pumps, motors, engines and other equipment
• Welding experience is required
• Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Responsibilities

• Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions
• Replace packing in pumps or valves
• Replace bearings in motors, pumps and other equipment
• Tune engines, set valve clearance, clean and adjust regulators
• Examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences
• Install and set up new equipment
• Lean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required
• May use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze or weld
• Assist in keeping maintenance records
• Perform other duties as required
