The Production Operator plays a key role in supporting various stages of the manufacturing process by setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery, as well as handling raw materials and chemicals in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include performing roll and grade changes, adjusting equipment settings for ceramic systems, machine controls, and water systems, and operating control panels, chemical and air pumps, and defect detection systems to maintain high production quality. Operators are expected to accurately measure and cut materials, monitor paper for defects, and maintain proper setup of knives and dies in accordance with converting worksheets. They are also responsible for tracking and managing inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring proper usage and documentation in systems like Oracle. Additional duties include boxing, wrapping, and preparing products for shipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following all plant, safety, and departmental rules. Operators must perform equipment start-up and shutdown procedures, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and respond to changing production needs while upholding a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
