About The Position

As a Pulmonologist, you will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases and disorders of the respiratory system, including the lungs and bronchial tubes. Your role is critical in improving patients' breathing and overall lung health through comprehensive clinical evaluations, advanced diagnostic testing, and personalized treatment plans. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care for patients with chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis. Additionally, you will be responsible for educating Advanced Practice Providers about disease management and prevention strategies to enhance quality of life. Your expertise will contribute to advancing respiratory medicine through participation in clinical research and staying current with emerging therapies and technologies.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Fellowship training in Pulmonology or Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with critical care medicine and management of patients in intensive care units.
  • Fellowship or training in sleep medicine or interventional pulmonology.
  • Research experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, chest X-rays, and CT scans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
  • Perform and interpret specialized procedures such as bronchoscopy and thoracentesis when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including primary care physicians, thoracic surgeons, and respiratory therapists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide patient education on disease processes, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Participate in clinical research activities and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Supervise and Guide Advanced Practice Providers
