We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients with respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and other pulmonary disorders. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
  • DEA License
  • CPR BCLS/BLS certified
  • Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • A year of experience in Pulmonology or respiratory care
  • Must have great organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical assessments and medical screenings of patients with pulmonary conditions.
  • Diagnose and treat common respiratory illnesses, including asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle factors.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies, such as inhalers, antibiotics, and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
  • Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, such as spirometry, chest X-rays, and arterial blood gas analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
