About The Position

The Pulmonary Function Technologist is responsible for the
day-to-day operation of the Pulmonary Function Lab. PFT duties include
performing lung volumes/flows, diffusion studies, metabolic testing, stress
testing, disability studies, and Provocation airway testing, ABG drawing and
alysis.

Requirements

• Licensure by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board required
• Registered (RRT) by the NBRC
• Two years of experience performing duties in a Respiratory Care department and in a Pulmonary Function/ABG lab
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

• Certified/Registered as a Pulmonary Function Technologist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CPFT/RPFT) preferred
