About The Position

The Pullet Vaccinator is responsible for administering vaccines to young chickens (pullets) to protect them against various diseases. This role is crucial in maintaining the health and well-being of the flock, ensuring proper vaccination techniques are followed, and maintaining accurate records of all vaccinations performed.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
0-2 years of relevant experience
Experience with various vaccination techniques in poultry or other animals
Basic understanding of poultry health and disease prevention
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records
Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive motions

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in poultry farming or animal husbandry
Knowledge of common poultry diseases and vaccination schedules
Basic computer skills for record-keeping
Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

Administer vaccines to pullets using various methods (e.g., injection, spray, eye drop, drinking water)
Prepare and handle vaccines according to manufacturer instructions and company protocols
Monitor pullets for any adverse reactions to vaccines
Maintain accurate vaccination records and report any issues or concerns
Clean and sanitize vaccination equipment before and after use
Follow biosecurity protocols to prevent disease spread
Assist in catching and handling birds as needed for vaccination
Observe and report any signs of illness or abnormal behavior in the flock
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on vaccination techniques and protocols
Collaborate with farm managers and veterinary staff to ensure vaccination programs are followed
