Join us and be part of our success! Bachoco USA is seeking a Pullet Service Technician for our Fort Smith, AR location. Summary: Works closely with the contract Pullet producers to grow-out (raise) a quality low cost pullet to be grown to Bachoco USA Farms standards for the purpose of producing maximum hatching eggs in the Bachoco USA Farms breeder houses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and qualify for the company driving program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an open and working relationship with contract producers.
  • Weighs birds according to schedule.
  • Administers vaccines on schedule.
  • Draws blood to state and federal programs.
  • Monitors farm conditions.
  • Monitors bird health.
  • Reports farm issues to Pullet Manager as needed.
  • Orders feed on a weekly basis.
  • Makes feed adjustments weekly based on weights and weight standards.
  • Sets up farm for wash down and bedding.
  • Responsible for set-up of farm before new flock is placed.
  • Other duties may be assigned according to program changes, weather conditions, or service area changes.
