The Pullet Service Technician is responsible for producing quality pullets and cockerels that are capable of producing fertile hatching eggs at a competitive price. Essential Functions: Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment. Ensure that housing, roads and equipment are maintained to Peco standards. Ensure that farms are managed according to Peco standards. Works with feed mill in ordering the proper feed and in the volume needed. Ensure that proper water and feed withdrawal is practiced and house is ready for catching. Weigh, flesh, blood test, and collect fat correctly as directed. Make decisions on feed amounts that will result in maximum production at best cost. Follow animal welfare and biosecurity programs and ensure that producers are trained and following these standards. Provide information for reports properly and on schedule. Monitor and consult with at least 6 pullet contract Producers on the designated service route. Handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely. Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations. Physical Demands: Sitting/standing/walking/driving 100% of the workday. Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions. Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
