Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior administrative experience is required, ideally in the music industry.
  • Knowledge of online research resources and best practices, with a keen eye for dubious or significant results.
  • Ability to recognize patterns in data and search results.
  • Understanding of and experience managing music metadata.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to both accurately record and follow detailed processes.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property and copyright, specifically related to musical works and recordings.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to share results and accomplishments effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate both internally and with groups outside the team.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be based in San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Research and capture song information from a variety of rights organizations, including ASCAP, BMI, and the MLC, as well as Spotify, YouTube, and more.
  • Manage the EMPIRE content management system's accurate writer, publisher, and work data.
  • Migrate and transform research results and client-submitted data to a standardized template.
  • Assist client managers with additional catalog research and cleanup projects.
  • Report findings and make recommendations to the copyright team.
