The Publishing Director provides strategic leadership for a defined segment of the AIP Publishing journal portfolio, which may include both AIP Publishing–owned journals and journals published in partnership with external societies or publisher partners. The Publishing Director is responsible for the performance, development, and growth of the journals within their portfolio. The role contributes to portfolio strategy and leads its execution within the assigned portfolio segment, ensuring journals serve their research communities while supporting AIP Publishing’s publishing and revenue goals. The Publishing Director leads and develops a team of Publishers and Associate Publishers and works closely with Editors, society partners, and cross-functional teams across marketing, operations, technology, and finance to drive portfolio performance and long-term growth. This role applies an enterprise lens to portfolio performance, balancing editorial priorities, community needs, and financial outcomes to ensure the long-term health and growth of the journal portfolio.
