The Publishing A&R department is responsible for seeking and signing writers to Concord as well as working closely with its current roster of songwriters and producers to help them secure opportunities for their music in various capacities. As the Publishing A&R Intern, you will gain a detailed understanding of the song “life” – from creation, to delivery, registration, licensing and finally, release/exploitation. You will experience firsthand how the A&R team works to elevate the careers of the writers. Our paid internship program will give you a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skillset, increase your knowledge of the industry, and expand your network. Our goal is to help you develop your talents as well as receive dedicated mentorship and support. Our Spring Internship Program will run from Tuesday, June 2nd- August 14th and allows interns to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This internship is a paid in-person opportunity and requires the ability to work in the specified office location.

Requirements

  • Have a passion for Music Publishing
  • Passionate about Latin Music
  • Understanding of Latin & Pop Music and the culture that surrounds it.
  • This internship is a part-time paid internship and requires someone located in/near Miami
  • The timeline of this internship programs runs from Tuesday, June 2nd- August 14th. You must be able to work 20 hours/week.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Staying informed and updated about new music trends in the Latin music industry
  • Identifying Miami-based talent align with the Concord vision or that make sense to our roster
  • Creating a networking contact sheet for upcoming meetings, events and concerts
  • Supporting supervisor on setting up meetings, confirming and booking songwriting sessions for our roster in the Miami studios.
  • Ensuring all equipment, instrument and software are ready and working properly
  • Welcoming writers, producers, and artists to ensure they feel comfortable and provide a studio tour if necessary
  • Creating song pitching strategies to discuss with the supervisor
  • Finding and confirm song registration in the song view portal of different performance right organization (PRO) such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, among others
  • Create curated playlist using DISCO
