Whether you just graduated high school and are interested in a career in Public Works or looking to spend your summer working outdoors before heading off to school in the fall, many unique opportunities are available with Elk Grove Village. The Village of Elk Grove is pleased to announce the offering of Summer Seasonal positions with the Village’s Public Works Department. Summer Seasonal(s) primarily work to complete tasks involving manual labor. Some typical tasks of a Summer Seasonal employee are painting, janitorial, light carpentry, planting and watering flowers and shrubs, watering trees, tree planting, and setting up for special events.
Requirements
- 2026 High School Graduate or currently enrolled in College
- Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
- A valid Illinois Driver’s License and a safe driving record
- Ability to work three (3) to five (5) days, and/or twenty-four (24) to forty (40) hours per week

Benefits
- Summer Seasonal employees will accrue one (1) hour of paid leave for every forty (40) hours worked.
