About The Position

The position involves performing playground equipment maintenance and repair skills, requiring knowledge of carpentry, irrigation systems, rubber surface repair, and fence maintenance. Responsibilities include gardening work, caring for lawns, gardens, shrubbery, and flower beds, as well as planting, pruning, and pest control. The role also encompasses various manual tasks such as cutting grass, digging, clearing snow, and maintaining recreational areas, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds. Additional duties include using hand tools and powered equipment for maintenance tasks, cleaning grounds, and assisting other personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to receive and interpret written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to use tools of trade in a workmanlike manner.
  • Good health and dependability to perform hard physical work.
  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license.
  • Safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform playground equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Conduct gardening work and care for lawns, gardens, shrubbery, and flower beds.
  • Plant and transplant flowers, prune trees, and control insect populations.
  • Weed and water flower beds.
  • Cut grass, dig, clear snow, and rake leaves.
  • Maintain recreational areas, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds.
  • Line playing fields and plant/trimming shrubs and small trees.
  • Use hand tools and powered equipment for maintenance tasks.
  • Replace and move grass, repair fences, swings, slides, and other playground equipment.
  • Paint and perform general maintenance work.
  • Clean grounds and assist other personnel in various tasks.
