About The Position

TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Lawrence is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Public Space Attendant (part-time) to join our team. The Public Space Attendant is responsible for the following: Maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc. in public areas such as lobby, pool, and public restrooms Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, hallways and stairwells Spot cleaning walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc. Reporting maintenance problems or completing repair orders Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings Review and approve timecard weekly for accuracy Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good interpersonal skills Ability to work in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner with other associates, management, guests, vendors, suppliers, and other members of the general public conducting business with the property Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and demanding work environment Basic knowledge of hotel operations or ability to learn quickly Ability to work as a team player with all levels of associates Dedicated, hard-working, self-motivated Practice safety standards at all times Special Requirements: Prompt and regular attendance. The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Must be available a minimum of 16 hours per week Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, and overtime as required Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional behavior and appearance standards Carry out all reasonable requests by team leaders and managers and act as a team player with all levels of staff The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
