About The Position

The City of Casper is seeking an experienced, visionary Public Services Director to guide and advance one of the City's most impactful departments. This executive-level leader will direct a diverse portfolio of essential public services-including Engineering, Fleet Maintenance, Streets, Traffic, Solid Waste, Wastewater Treatment and Collection, Water Treatment and Distribution, and Stormwater Management. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Public Services Director plays a crucial role in shaping Casper's infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality services that support residents, businesses, and the region's long-term growth. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a collaborative, forward-thinking leader with deep knowledge of public services operations, regulatory compliance, municipal budgeting, and effective organizational management. They will possess strong skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, public communication, and staff development. This position requires an individual who can operate confidently in a dynamic environment, balance competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and represent the City with professionalism and integrity. Requirements

  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in public services, public works, engineering, or related fields.
  • Three (3) years of formal management and supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
