Public Services Director
About The Position
The City of Casper is seeking an experienced, visionary Public Services Director to guide and advance one of the City's most impactful departments. This executive-level leader will direct a diverse portfolio of essential public services-including Engineering, Fleet Maintenance, Streets, Traffic, Solid Waste, Wastewater Treatment and Collection, Water Treatment and Distribution, and Stormwater Management. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Public Services Director plays a crucial role in shaping Casper's infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality services that support residents, businesses, and the region's long-term growth. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a collaborative, forward-thinking leader with deep knowledge of public services operations, regulatory compliance, municipal budgeting, and effective organizational management. They will possess strong skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, public communication, and staff development. This position requires an individual who can operate confidently in a dynamic environment, balance competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and represent the City with professionalism and integrity. Requirements
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in public services, public works, engineering, or related fields.
- Three (3) years of formal management and supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
