The Public Service Intern II for the UNLV Academic Success Coaching provides a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Coaching Spot. This position is responsible for managing the front desk duties and providing support when needed to the Senior Coordinator and staff members. Academic Success Coaching front desk duties include providing customer service to students (current and prospective), parents/families, faculty, staff, Student Academic Success personnel, and other visitors, either in-person or virtually. Additionally, the Public Service Intern II is expected to guide and support undergraduate students to achieve their academic goals and support their connection to the UNLV community, via both 1:1 coaching sessions and campus presentations. They must stay up to date concerning the multiple campus resources available to students and best practices concerning time management, goal setting, and effective study habits. The Public Service Intern II is tasked with maintaining precise records of UNLV analytics such as Qualtrics survey responses, presentation attendance, and other departmental activities. Excelling in this role, the Public Service Intern II should be able to assist as needed with new projects or other ASC initiatives. In addition, they must be able to adapt to changes in direction at UNLV and Student Academic Services. In sum, the Public Service Intern II is required to possess exceptional organizational and detail-oriented abilities to handle numerous tasks and priorities at the same time. Along with these, they must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and faculty. They should also be well-versed in data organization programs like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Rebel Success Hub/Salesforce. The Public Service Intern II is a key member of the Academic Success Coaching team, providing the necessary support to ensure that the department's goals are met. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will play a part in enhancing student enrollment, retention, successful progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes, in order to meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote equitable student success.
