About The Position
The Public Service Aide (Police) provides essential non-enforcement support services to the North Miami Police Department, allowing sworn officers to focus on law enforcement and criminal apprehension. This role involves a variety of paraprofessional duties, including preliminary investigations of nonviolent offenses, traffic management, and community engagement. PSAs are unarmed civilian employees who assist police officers and perform tasks that do not require enforcement powers, except for issuing traffic citations in specific situations.
