About The Position

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Foster Home Licensing Supervisor. Under administrative direction, this position oversees the activities of a team of professional foster home licensing staff and coordinates foster care recruitment, assessment, and the identification and facilitation of placements to an array of substitute care living arrangements. Additionally, the position approves licensing recommendations and reviews and approves licensing complaint files completed by assigned staff. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in being a leader in the administration of agency monitoring services to ensure foster homes adhere to all appropriate licensing requirements to keep children safe. Requirements

  • Requires a master’s degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
  • Requires three years of administrative child welfare or investigations experience with an MSW or four years of child welfare or investigations administrative experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties.
  • Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Foster Home Licensing Supervisor
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Establishes and maintains effective public relations with internal and external entities, serving as liaison with other
  • Establishes and implements a team-based program of staff development and training for subordinate staff
  • Explains and enforces agency policies, procedures, state and area statutes, and requirements
  • Attends technical staff conferences to assess needed services
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
