The Consulting Associate will support Whitley Penn’s Public Sector clients by providing high-quality consulting services across a variety of accounting and compliance areas. How Will You Make an Impact? Prepare bank reconciliations, monitor accounts payable and p-cards for client organizations. Capital asset roll forward Conduct cash counts Perform agreed upon procedures for construction manager-at-risk engagements and ensure the contractor adhered to the guaranteed maximum price and contract provisions. Support school district efficiency audits under HB 3, 86 th Legislature. Assist with federal compliance testing, including Single Audit requirements and grant compliance. Internal control reviews and business process improvement Review procurement processes for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Participate in internal audit engagements, including risk assessments and control testing. Contribute to forensic accounting projects, including fraud investigations and data analysis. Prepare clear and accurate workpapers, reports, and client deliverables in accordance with professional standards. Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and timely service delivery. Stay current on relevant accounting standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
