Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. With the highest level of professionalism and integrity the Kentucky State Police works to prevent, reduce, and deter crime and the fear of crime; enhance highway safety through education and enforcement; protect and safeguard individual rights; and provide leadership, training, technical, and operational support to the criminal justice community. The Public Safety Telecommunication Manager is an integral part of the Kentucky State Police Radio Room. In addition to performing the duties of a Telecommunicator this individual oversees all activities within the radio room, trains and equips new telecommunicators with the skills and knowledge to be effective and efficient in their daily responsibilities and implements changes necessary to ensure Trooper safety. Due to the nature of 24-hour operations the applicant must be willing to work a flexible shift. Must be currently certified as a Telecommunicator by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC) and be currently certified as a LINK/NCIC operator. Shall not have been convicted of a felony or other crimes pursuant to KRS 15.540. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
