Job Summary: The Keystone Resort Public Safety Team Member plays a key role in delivering a safe, welcoming, and service-focused guest experience. This is an active, highly interactive role—not a passive security position—and requires consistent engagement across all lines of business. Team Members serve as a visible, approachable presence throughout the resort, working collaboratively and communicating continuously with teammates, departments, and stakeholders while on shift. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in dynamic or high-stress situations. Public Safety Team Members are expected to de-escalate conflicts, respond to incidents with care and professionalism, and protect sensitive or confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • Valid US Driver's license - required
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy, communication, and problem-solving - required
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate tense or emotional situations and remain composed under pressure - required
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with continuous communication and coordination while on shift - required
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in dynamic environments - required
  • Comfortable with frequent, in-person communication and engagement - required
  • Ability to meet guest needs during high-stress or emergency situations with professionalism and care - required
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity - required
  • Clean driving record and successful background check - required
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification – required or obtained within one month of hire
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal - required
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions - required
  • Able to lift 50 pounds - required
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to bend, crawl, climb, lift, kneel and crouch - required
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and maintain a flexible schedule - required

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, guest-focused service through direct, in-person engagement with guests, employees, and stakeholders
  • Serve as a calm, professional presence during incidents, utilizing de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and support positive outcomes
  • Respond to guest and employee incidents including disturbances, access requests, motor vehicle accidents, theft investigations, trespassing, and safety concerns
  • Actively collaborate and maintain constant communication with team members and departments while on shift to ensure coordinated operations
  • Work seamlessly across all lines of business, supporting resort-wide needs in real time
  • Actively communicate in person—prioritizing human interaction over passive communication methods—to build trust and resolve issues effectively
  • Support the guest experience through parking operations, traffic control, wayfinding, and high-visibility guest assistance
  • Provide care and support during emergencies, including basic medical response (First Aid/CPR/AED/STB/Narcan required within one month of hire)
  • Execute emergency procedures in alignment with resort policies and protocols
  • Manage and resolve elevated (tier-two) guest service concerns with professionalism and ownership
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-direct, assess situations, and take appropriate action without constant supervision
  • Promote pedestrian and roadway safety through traffic control and situational awareness
  • Conduct preliminary incident investigations and document findings accurately
  • Write clear, timely, and professional reports while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and adherence to company policies
  • Other duties as assigned
