Are you ready to begin your Authority Life journey? The Savannah Convention Center is currently seeking a full-time Public Safety Officer to join our family! Be a part of our team of the 330,000 square foot Savannah Convention Center currently undergoing an expansion and located directly across from historic Savannah and on the Savannah River. The full-time Public Safety Officer reports to the Public Safety Manager. The Public Safety Officer shall be responsible for the implementation of security policies and procedures of the department under the direction of the Public Safety Manager. Duties include but are not limited to: patrolling the interior and dock areas of the facility, completing written incident reports and departmental documents, and responding to emergency situations. Nice To Haves

Valid Georgia Driver's License preferred
Customer Service/ Relations experience preferred
Previous work experience as a Public Safety Officer or relevant position preferred
Report writing skills strongly preferred
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with oversight of part time Public Safety Officers
Supervise and complete shift assignments as required in accordance with established guidelines
Complete shift assignments as required in accordance with established guidelines
Patrol the interior, exterior and dock areas of the campus. Patrolling may include foot beat, bike patrol, Segway, and/or motorized cart
Complete written incident reports and departmental documents.
Perform crowd management
Perform public safety officer duties, crime prevention and safety inspections
Respond to emergency situations
Provide public safety
Respond and investigate concerns, complaints or calls for service
Provide safety escorts
Serve as a point of information to the public
Perform other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Public Safety Supervisor and/or Public Safety Manager
