Public Safety Officer Job Summary: Provides Public Safety services for all persons on hospital premises and protects hospital property from loss due to fire, theft, or vandalism. Provide switchboard operator and dispatch duties which include answering and directing all calls, operating the fire alarm panel and emergency paging systems. Clearly directs emergency responders to fire scene or location of emergency. Interacts effectively with people under stressful circumstances and takes appropriate action, e.g. "Crisis Team" “Uncooperative Patients”, or "Mr. Muscle", fire alarms, and hazardous material spills.
