About The Position
The Public Safety Officer at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is responsible for maintaining security during evening hours when the park is closed to the public. This role involves monitoring gate entrances and exits, providing public assistance during evening programs, and patrolling the park, buildings, and surrounding areas. The officer will complete security reports, assist with meter readings, and monitor after-hours systems. Additionally, the officer will answer incoming calls, provide information to callers, and ensure that all signage and staff parking is accurate for the following business day. The position requires excellent guest service skills and a commitment to public relations. The officer must be dependably available and able to maintain a third shift schedule on weekends.
