About The Position

The Public Safety Officer I - Armed position at Advocate Medical Group in Olympia Fields, IL, is a full-time role on the 1st shift, requiring the officer to work from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
  • Illinois team members must have completed State of Illinois 40-hour armed course with semi-automatic pistol endorsement.
  • Must obtain Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years of appointment.
  • Valid driver's license and Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license.
  • Ability to pass background investigation, drug screen, and physical and psychological screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provides security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
  • Conducts interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security.
  • Performs inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions.
  • Responds to service calls and assists in de-escalating situations.
  • Plans and responds to emergencies such as lost or abducted infants/children, fire, and active threats.
  • Investigates incidents and completes timely and accurate reports.
  • Delivers security awareness education to team members.
  • Liaisons with state and local law enforcement and first responder agencies.
  • Maintains current Department training standards.
