Overview: Full-Time Days, 8-hour shifts Responsibilities: Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. Conducts Public Safety training and development programs. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects. Functions as an informal resource to colleagues, conducts training and on-boards for new employees. Qualifications: Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty, or an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force Required Licenses and Certifications Valid Drivers license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Required Additional Licenses and Certifications Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire Required Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required Carry company issued firearm Required Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required Business Unit : Name: Piedmont Henry Hospital
