The armed security officer at Dayton Children's Main Campus is responsible for providing maximum security for the hospital during both normal operations and emergency situations. This role involves enforcing the hospital's security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and hospital employees in a professional manner that aligns with the hospital's mission of providing healthcare to children. The officer will also be responsible for complying with a hospital-wide program for surveillance, prevention, and control of infection, as well as a safety management program aimed at creating a hazard-free physical environment and reducing the risk of human injury. Collaboration with all divisions of the hospital is essential, and the officer will also be tasked with patient transport duties. A valid driver's license is required, and the officer must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Additionally, the officer must achieve OPOTA certification within 12 months of hire.
