Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center Providing investigative support through the extraction and analysis of electronic devices, criminal case support, trend analysis, cryptocurrency tracing, and dark web investigations. What You'll Do as a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst Independently review & analyze problems related to sophisticated criminal &/or complex organized crime-related activity from agency personnel & other intelligence units ; Collect, research & generate bulletins, products, assessments, after action reports, etc ; Present & articulate complex analysis & products (i.e., reports, charts, maps, etc.,) to Division Management & Administration to assist with decision-making ; Research, analyze & evaluate ONIC proposals, projects & activities in order to improve &/or streamline processes, forecast the need for additional resources such as staffing, equipment, supplies, etc., &/or make changes to administrative &/or operational programs & procedures ; Maintain association with & facilitates exchange of information between federal, state & local law enforcement agencies & task forces for disposition of criminal activity &/or intelligence information on criminal activity ;

Requirements

  • 36 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; AND 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • If required, must obtain LEADS certification; must renew LEADS certification biannually.
  • Additionally, some positions at Department of Public Safety must be able to obtain & maintain secret level federal security clearance.
  • Requires valid driver's license to operate state-owned vehicle or must be able to provide own transportation.
  • A BCI and FBI fingerprint check, a background check, including a polygraph examination, may be required on all selected applicants.
  • A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process.

Responsibilities
