About The Position

The Public Safety Graduate Assistant (GA) position is responsible for encouraging a positive environment for all community members, providing coverage, and supporting essential functions of the Public Safety Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Saint Mary
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Must be self-starter - able to work with minimal direction/supervision and should possess and demonstrate initiative
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to pass required background screening
  • Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience organizing co-curricular activities and crisis intervention is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a role model to students and student staff
  • Assist with Public Safety Department projects and programming
  • Provide administrative support to Public Safety Department
  • Provide Aid and support to community and staff members
  • Collaborates with various university personnel and offices
  • Participates, as appropriate, in college-wide committees
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
