About The Position

The position involves coordinating activities between the District Attorney's Office and Public Safety Departments in Salt Lake County, focusing on domestic violence (DV) and sexual violence (SV) cases. The role requires building effective relationships with law enforcement personnel, advising on complex cases, and providing training to law enforcement officers to enhance their skills in handling DV and SV cases with a victim-centered approach.

Requirements

  • Fifteen (15) years working in law enforcement, with 3-5 years in domestic violence/sexual violence cases.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field preferred.
  • Experience in providing training to large groups preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah required.
  • Must pass an initial criminal background check and meet BCI requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as assigned by the Survivor and Victim Services Division Director.
  • Coordinate activities between the District Attorney's Office and Public Safety Departments.
  • Build effective relationships with SV and DV sergeants and lieutenants.
  • Advise on complex, high-risk DV and SV cases.
  • Research, design, and implement training for law enforcement officers on DV and SV cases.
  • Assist in determining goals and implementing plans for DV and SV prosecution.
  • Identify best practices related to DV/SV prosecution and victim-centered strategies.
  • Work on continuous improvement for SV and DV cases in collaboration with LEEDS partners.
  • Coordinate and communicate with DV/SV sergeants, lieutenants, and detectives.
  • Provide training for DV and SV personnel regarding investigation strategies.
