About The Position
Operates, monitors and controls Department of Public Safety communications within the university community; answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls; logs officer activity information into NexGen database; monitors CCTV system; issues authorized keys to students and staff; grants parking permits; assists with general needs of the department; and keeps abreast of dispatch-related internal/external procedures/regulation. This position requires working rotating shifts and schedules, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Employees must be able to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods and report to work in various weather conditions. The role involves regular exposure to sensitive and confidential information, requiring discretion and professionalism. Occasional mandatory overtime may be required based on operational needs.
