About The Position

The position involves monitoring security systems and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls in a control room environment. The role requires dispatching Public Safety Officers, maintaining logs, and ensuring the functionality of security equipment across multiple facilities. The individual will also handle communication with various emergency services and assist in maintaining safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a hospital or hotel setting preferred.
  • CPI certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Active and valid State of Florida driver's license with an approved driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and ability to learn software applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor multiple camera feeds and alarms in the control room.
  • Dispatch Public Safety Officers to incidents based on priority levels.
  • Maintain daily dispatch logs and monitor work orders in the Total Maintenance System (TMS).
  • Conduct security equipment checks to ensure proper functioning.
  • Respond to emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel.
  • Enable, disable, and reset emergency door alarms.
  • Assign and manage badge access levels for employees and contractors.
  • Receive and log burglar alarm notifications from monitoring companies.
  • Monitor fire alarms and communicate with monitoring companies during emergencies.
  • Assist visitors with directions to facilities.
  • Continuously monitor refrigerator temperatures and report any issues.
  • Account for all keys assigned to the Security department and maintain logs.
  • Perform radio checks and communicate with officers using two-way radios.
  • Provide supervision and observation of behavioral health patients.
