The Sacramento Communications Center is a public safety answering point. Employees answer 9-1-1, public, allied agency telephone lines as well as making outgoing calls to service providers, allied agencies and citizens. PSD's provide radio dispatching services to seven CHP offices. PSD's must document information in a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System accurately, quickly and take the appropriate action on each call. Employees work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. They are required to work overtime as needed. They must consistently report to work on time with a minimum of absences.
