Public Safety (911) Call Taker
About The Position
As a member of our team, you will be tasked to: Answer incoming routine and 911 phone calls Document and maintain detailed and accurate records of all calls, ensuring essential information is properly recorded in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system Deliver clear and accurate life safety and pre-arrival instructions to callers in potentially critical situations, ensuring effective guidance and support until emergency services arrive Maintain and project a professional attitude by remaining calm, courteous, and respectful with members of the public and partner agencies while working effectively under pressure
Requirements
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate dispatching software, including typing at a minimum net speed of 35 words per minute
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think and react to dynamic situations
- Availability to work in varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Highly dependable in consistently reporting for work on-time and as scheduled; available for mandatory overtime when
