About the role: At eBay, we are seeking an ambitious Public Relations Specialist to join our global communications team, focusing on fashion and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) selling. This outstanding opportunity allows you to work closely with local and global partners across PR and communications, marketing, brand, and business units. You’ll collaborate with colleagues in the UK, Germany, France, and Italy, all while being based in the dynamic city of New York. Ideal for an individual contributor with four to six years of experience, this role offers growth in responsibility and influence over time. We offer clear opportunities to develop skills in strategy, storytelling, and working with interested parties. This position can evolve into a role centered on critical communications within our team spread across locations. You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast paced function that values trust, curiosity, and balance. eBay provides a hybrid working environment, with three days in-office and two days working from home.

Requirements

  • Four to six years of consumer PR background, ideally including experience both in-house and at an agency.
  • Passion for and understanding of the New York and global fashion industry.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across multiple time zones in a dynamic team environment.
  • Skill in connecting business initiatives to build news or identify industry trends where eBay can shine.
  • Experience in driving successful PR strategies and creative campaigns rooted in business goals.
  • Proven record of pitching and placing media stories and managing press inquiries to drive eBay’s brand narrative.
  • Excellent consumer media relationships.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead eBay’s consumer narrative and value proposition, focusing on fashion and C2C, gaining insight into the marketplace and its categories.
  • Execute integrated strategies and campaigns that extend beyond typical PR, driving increased consideration through earned media.
  • Partner seamlessly with eBay’s marketing and business units, providing strategic and sound counsel and partnership.
  • Work together with eBay’s consumer PR team and vertical leads, corporate, and internal communications groups.
  • Manage global agency partners on achievement campaigns.
  • Foster relationships with key press across fashion, lifestyle, and more.
