About The Position

The Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for designing and executing effective PR strategies to elevate Lifeline Children's Services' visibility and reputation. This role requires proactive engagement with media contacts, crafting and distributing compelling press materials, securing coverage across multiple platforms, and ensuring consistent communication of Lifeline's mission and initiatives. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to relationship building with key media stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams to align PR efforts with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field experience
  • 2 years of professional experience in public relations, media, or communications preferred
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with media tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
  • Actively participates on the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with other team members, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
  • Disciples' ministry partners and clients.
  • Aligns team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team's work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline's Core Values
  • Assists the agency to recruit, enroll, maintain, and work with prospective foster and/or adoptive parents in processing a foster and/or adoptive placement
  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Create and distribute engaging press releases, media advisories, and pitches, highlighting Lifeline's initiatives and spokespeople.
  • Develop and refine op-eds ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
  • Build relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets to secure diverse media coverage, including radio, podcasts, TV interviews, print, and online platforms.
  • Coordinate and schedule media interviews, press conferences, and editorial opportunities.
  • Work closely with the President of Lifeline Children's Services, senior leadership, and key spokespeople to ensure PR efforts are well-coordinated.
  • Monitor and log all media hits in tracking systems and publish them to Lifeline's website as they are released.
  • Keep up with relevant news developments, sharing updates and reactions on appropriate channels.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor and contractor through regular strategy and task delegation meetings.
  • Prepare reports on media hits, pitches, and other PR activities to track progress and impact.
  • Meet with internal departments to gather insights on ongoing campaigns, upcoming events, and potential media stories.
  • Conduct research and maintain organized journalist reports to support targeted media pitching efforts.
  • Engage with media contacts regularly to foster relationships and expand Lifeline's network without always making specific requests.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and alignment with Lifeline's mission and brand across all PR and media efforts.
  • Provide quick, professional responses to breaking news opportunities by drafting and releasing statements as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing impactful messaging, positioning, and strategic communication materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure PR efforts support broader organizational goals.
  • Maintain organizational branding and quality in all written and visual communication.
