About The Position

The Public Relations/Communications Specialist at Campbell County Health is responsible for shaping and maintaining the public image of the organization. This role involves serving as the primary liaison for media relations, crisis communications, community engagement, and emergency preparedness communication. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and state media outlets to promote the health system's services, initiatives, and achievements.
  • Draft press releases, media advisories, statements, and other materials for distribution to the media and general public.
  • Prepare and coordinate interviews and press conferences with healthcare executives, physicians, and staff.
  • Monitor media coverage and report on public perception and trends related to Campbell County Health.
  • Manage the health system's crisis communications during emergencies, incidents, and high-profile situations.
  • Work with the emergency preparedness and response team to develop communication plans for crisis situations, natural disasters, and public health emergencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal and external communication in the event of an emergency, including notifications to the public and coordination with local government and emergency management agencies.
  • Assist in the development of training exercises and simulations, ensuring that communication protocols are well understood by all relevant staff.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed about critical developments during emergencies to minimize confusion and enhance public trust.
  • Develop and implement strategic community engagement programs to foster relationships between Campbell County Health and local community organizations, schools, businesses, and residents.
  • Coordinate and attend community events, health fairs, and public forums, serving as a representative of the health system.
  • Advocate for health system initiatives by engaging with local government, schools, nonprofits, and other community groups to enhance healthcare access and awareness.
  • Monitor public opinion and trends within the community and adjust strategies to strengthen the health system's relationship with local stakeholders.
  • Assist the marketing team in the creation and execution of campaigns that promote Campbell County Health's services, events, and programs.
  • Collaborate content creation for digital platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, and email campaigns.
  • Support the development of materials for internal communication and employee engagement to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of public relations, community relations, and marketing efforts, adjusting strategies based on feedback and analytics.
