About The Position
The Public Policy Director will empower the company to successfully continue development of innovative customer programs to maintain reliability, resiliency, energy efficiency, customer satisfaction, innovation, and affordability as well as support our modernization of energy infrastructure while meeting rapidly growing demand. This includes serving as the lead federal policy expert on matters related to energy orchestration, virtual power plants, energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, energy storage, clean energy technologies, and related issues of affordability and access for customers. The Public Policy Director will work collaboratively with Duke Energy business partners to contribute to the company's overall policy strategy and advancing Duke Energy priorities with key trade associations and coalitions as part of overall advocacy efforts. This will require establishing strong working relationships at all levels within key Duke Energy business units and collaborate with business partners and across external affairs and communications to identify federal public policy priorities and develop company positions. Through these and other tactics, the Public Policy Director will further the company's leadership on technology innovation, including in partnership with customers at the grid edge.
