McAdams is seeking a motivated Public Infrastructure Engineering Lead to lead the successful delivery of municipal infrastructure projects across Texas. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer. Texas (PE) license preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of site/civil engineering experience
  • Strong skills in client development, communication, and management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support pursuit strategies for municipal and public-sector opportunities (roadway, drainage, water/wastewater, parks, and related infrastructure).
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline by identifying opportunities, developing capture plans, and positioning McAdams for selection.
  • Serve as a key contributor (or lead) in the preparation of SOQs, proposals, interviews, scopes, schedules, and fee development, including negotiation and contract execution.
  • Leverage market knowledge and relationships to expand existing accounts and open new client relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for municipal clients and stakeholder groups.
  • Proactively manage expectations, communicate project status, and resolve issues to protect client satisfaction and long-term relationships.
  • Lead/participate in client meetings, public meetings, and coordination sessions with agencies, utilities, and stakeholders.
  • Provide overall delivery leadership from planning through construction, including scope definition, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, staffing plans, and schedule control.
  • Ensure strong project financial performance (WIP, invoicing, change management, subconsultant management, and profitability).
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal disciplines, technical specialists, and subconsultants to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to McAdams standards, QA/QC processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hire, develop, and lead teams of project engineers, designers, and technicians to support workload and long-term growth.
  • Set clear performance expectations; provide coaching, mentorship, and regular feedback to support individual development and accountability.
  • Partner with highly skilled professionals for surveying, entitlement, permitting, landscape architecture, traffic engineering and construction administration to serve full client needs.
  • Manage work planning and delegation across the team to meet project goals within defined budgets and schedules.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance for municipal designs and deliverables from conceptual through final design.
  • Review plans and deliverables for constructability, compliance, and quality, including grading, roadway, drainage, water, and sanitary sewer improvements.
  • Oversee production and/or review of drawings and models developed in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Performing research and completing technical design tasks as required and/or assigned
  • Preparing documents for public and/or private public works infrastructure projects (i.e., grading, street, highway, drainage, water, and sanitary sewer improvements) from conceptual to final design, under the direction & supervision of a professional engineer
  • Develop detailed civil drawings and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, reports, opinion of probable cost, construction specifications and contract documents, under the direction & supervision of a professional engineer
  • Establishing good communication and collaborative working relationships with team members & clients
  • Organizing and scheduling your own work, and at times, the work of other team members to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
  • Effectively coordinating & collaborating with technical experts, other engineering design teams and sub-consultants
  • Maintaining strong overall financial performance
